Fr. Tate has advised that unfortunately 'The Way to St James Pilgrimage in January 2018 has now been deferred until 2019.
In coming to this decision, the committee was most appreciative of the support from within the parish in previous years, but there were not sufficient numbers to make the 2018 pilgrimage sustainable.
Welcome to the Huon Valley Catholic Parish Website
Like our Valley you will find our Parish and this website to be a friendly, inclusive and beautiful place to visit or to be a part of on a more permanent basis.
The Valley is nearly always green with much to see and do, and it is very easy to travel around. Here you will find a diversity of God's creation reflected in both the scenery and the people. We are a diverse community with a sense of acceptance and generosity of spirit that is never far from the surface of our hearts and our response to those in need.
This Parish is friendly. If you are new to the Valley you will find very quickly a sense of belonging and of being home. If you are just passing through I can assure you, you will want to come back and visit such is the allure and peace of the Valley and the Catholic Community.
The Parish Mass times are listed here on the website and directions to the various Churches where the Eucharist is celebrated. Our weekly Parish Newsletter, also here on the website, will give you the happenings of the Parish, and all the Parish Contact details as well.
Call by our new Church in Ranelagh, St Mary of the Cross Catholic Community Church. As the name suggests we see ourselves very much in the spirit of Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint and we are truly a community that 'never sees a need without doing something about it'. As a community we are very excited about worshipping in our new spiritual home. We are proud to show off our Holy space and are pleased that so many members of the community have participated in its creation from planning to design to construction. It reflects our desire for the traditions of our Faith but in a more modern setting communicating the Church in and for the modern world. It is a place that is both warm and reflective inviting all who enter through her doors to spend a while in quiet and peace.
We welcome our new Parish Administrator is Fr. Devaraju Dusi (known as Fr. Deva) and his assistant Fr. Christopher to our Parish.
If you can't make it to Mass any weekend, Fr. Deva's Gospel Reflection is included in the Parish Newsletter.
May God bless your visit.
